Svetlana and Yuriy Panteleenko have a teddy bear as a pet. The couple adopted Stepan the Bear when he was a little orphan of 3 months. Stepan was found by hunters in a forest and was in a terrible state.
No one thought the bear would survive, but the two decided to give it a chance and took the bear home. Surprisingly, the little one recovered, so the couple made the decision to offer him a permanent home and adopted him.
Twenty-three years later, Stepan still lives with them in their house in Moscow, Russia. He is now part of the family, and the three even sit down at night to watch TV together! Even though Stefan has never lived in the wild and is domesticated, a bear’s instinct can never be completely mastered.
Remember that bears are superior predators and therefore extremely dangerous.
Even so, the couple said they had no concerns about Stephan’s wild instincts. He loves people and is a sociable bear – despite what people might think, he is not aggressive at all. They belong to nature and are free. But this is the second best option for living at home and being loved.
