At the risk of getting behind bars, the photographer saved a barely living bear cub

Under the state’s fisheries and wildlife law, he could pay a $ 6,000 fine for helping the animal, or even spend a year behind bars.

Corey Hancock is a professional photographer and one day he was walking slowly and noticed a small spot darkening in the distance among the leaves. He came up and saw a bear cub there.

The young man recalls that by all external signs he was already lifeless. His lips were blue, his eyes were ajar, but dull and motionless. It was raining season, and the animal was soaked through and through. But Corey still felt weak breathing.

The photographer admitted that he thought at that moment about his very little son and the bear cub was the same child and he simply could not have left him in the rain in such a state.

He took the animal in his arms and ran to the car. But throughout the entire journey, he had a fear that the mother bear would attack him since the animals could leave their cubs for a while to look for food.

But Corey, after a little observation, realized that there was no other animal nearby.

As soon as he reached the car, the bear’s breathing stopped completely, and he began to give him artificial respiration. The veterinarian found out that the animal was emaciated and dehydrated.

It was decided not to fine Corey as in this case mother bear abandoned her cub. This time everything worked out.
