In October 2007,at about two o’clock in the morning,when Trudy and Greg Guy were sleeping in their room,their cat Schnautsi ran to them and woke up the mistress,touching her by the nose with her paws.
At first,Trudy did not pay attention to such pranks as she thought,but the persistent and restless behavior of the animal made the woman realize that something serious had happened.
Trudy woke up her husband Greg,who,after inspecting the house,found that a gas pipe had burst in the basement,filling the room with a dangerous caustic smell.
The family called the rescue service and hurried to leave the house.The firefighters who arrived at the scene told the owners that if the cat hadn’t woken them up in time,the house could easily take off into the air.
Later,Schnautsi received the «Purple Paw» award from the Great Falls Animal Foundation(Montana).
