Fishermen Mallory Harrigan,Cliff Russell and Allan Russell were a few miles from Labrador Peninsula,Canada, when they met something completely unusual.Something was on a small,mushroom-shaped iceberg that drifted helplessly into the sea,and it was not a creature intended for swimming.
Fishermen who were on board the fishing vessel for catching crabs «Northern Swam» noticed something strange 4 miles from the shore.
There was an involuntary passenger on a mushroom-shaped iceberg. The crew first thought it was a seal cub.
But as it turned out,an Arctic fox drifted on the iceberg.
«She’s probably stuck there looking for food,» said Mallory Harrigan.
They lured a frightened animal to the boat.’We gave her chips and crackers, but she didn’t want anything until she recovered, and then we fed her sausages.»
Returning ti land, the fox was released back to its natural habitat.A simple act of crew kindness saved her life.
